What Is Dependence?

Sometimes one also comes across the concept co-existential involvement. The child is dependent on his fellow human beings. The premise that man is dependent on education confirms this co-existential involvement. At birth the child is dependent and has to be habituated in a human world. In order to come to grips with the world, which has been prepared for him by others, the child relies on co-existence and the examples set by his fellow human beings. Not only is the child to be cared for by way of nutrition and clothing, but he is also longing for a real home created by a loving mother (father). Because the child is dependent on education he needs education. The child acknowledges his dependence on education by joyously accepting his educators and showing his willingness to be directed by them through entrusting himself to them.
