Agnosticism

Doctrine teaching the impossibility for man to ascertain the reality of God and how the world originated and developed; therefore only the tangible and the visible should be taken into account — thus the theory that reality is unknowable. In religion, it is the doctrine that the existence of God can neither be proved nor disproved.
